Jessica Simpson has signed on as spokeswoman for Stampede Light Plus, made by Dallas’ Stampede Brewing Co.

Simpson will appear in ads in stores for the beer and is taking a 15 percent stake in the brewer. The Dallas Morning News says terms were not disclosed.

Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede’s president and chief executive, says Simpson is the now face of the brand.

Jessica Simpson’s first Country single, “Come On Over,” has been chosen as the featured track for all promotion spots running in advance of the TV special, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock. Promotion spots will begin airing on ABC Aug. 18 until Sept. 8, when the TV special is scheduled to air.

While the song lyrics to Jessica’s new song “Remember That” clearly imply that a man, presumably a former boyfriend, has abused her, the National Enquirer is running a story suggesting that Jess was actually abused in high school.

“Most people believe Jessica is talking about being abused by a former boyfriend…..Jessica was abused as a teenager while attending J.J Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas-long before she met Nick Lachey or any of her ex-boyfriends,” an Enquirer source reveals.

Teen Hollywood has a great new interview with Jessica, where she talks about leaving Pop for good and concentrating on Country music. She reveals that Pop was never really her thing and that her heart wasn’t truly in it. But now that she is doing country music, she feels she is being herself again. Read the interview below and after the jump:

Q: So you’ve got a new album coming out and it’s going to be all country?

A: It’s a very exciting time for me artistically. Making this record for me has really given me the chance to see myself. It feels really nice to do that in music, because for so long I didn’t feel like I connected with the music that I was singing. This is the first album that I can hand over to people that has a constant message of who I am and where I’m at in my life and what I’ve been through. It’s a great story and I was able to do that through country music. I really never want to go back (to doing pop music). I feel so comfortable where I’m at. The entire making of the record is something that I hope to do again really soon.

Jessica Simpson says she wants to become as big as her idol Dolly Parton.

Simpson is determined to be as successful as country and western star Dolly — but not just in the music stakes.

“Dolly is awesome! I idolize her,” says Jessica. “And she is beautiful. I would love to be just like her. I have worked with her and it was great. It was really exciting – I am blessed, 100 per cent.”

Jessica and pals, including Ken Paves pictured on the right, went out to dinner last night, at trendy West Hollywood restaurant Mr Chow. It must have been a big meal with lots to talk about, because they reportedly dined for over 5 hours!

Jessica and Tony enjoyed a meal out at Nobu in Malibu last night. Upon leaving, a paparazzi photographer gave Jess the giggles when he tripped and lost his flipflop, trying to get a shot of the couple walking out of the restaurant.
