Nick Lachey is demanding $8 million from Jessica Simpson

Posted by Webmistress on May 21st, 2006

Nick Lachey is demanding $8 million from Jessica Simpson in exchange for ending their marriage quickly reports The National Enquirer.

Nick fears he’s facing financial ruin — unless Jessica bails him out with a quickie divorce settlement!

Insiders say he’s so desperate for dough, he’s willing to take a 40/60 split of the couple’s assets — instead of California’s customary 50/50 deal — if Jessica signs off soon on their three-year marriage.

“Nick is so worried that he’s asked his lawyer to set up an emergency meeting with Jessica’s attorney for some time this month to resolve this quickly” revealed an insider.

“Jessica’s stalling because she knows that the lawsuits filed against her could prove to be a problem.”

Sources say if Nick doesn’t strike the settlement deal soon he may lose both his $5 million Bel Air mansion, plus the $3.5 million condo he’s now building in Vegas.

“The divorce war is now on and reality has set in for Nick — he’s sweating bullets over money,” said a friend of Jessica’s.

“Jessica doesn’t want to leave Nick high and dry, but she’s in no hurry to rush the proceedings. This is about business, not love. She’s been the breadwinner in the relationship and feels Nick will be well cared for in the divorce settlement, no matter what. Jessica isn’t concerned that Nick’s in a cash crunch, or if the divorce takes all year.”
Simpson filed for divorce Dec. 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She also requested that no spousal support be awarded and that her surname be officially changed back to Simpson.

Meanwhile, Lachey wants to get married again as soon as his divorce from Jessica
Simpson is finalised.
The star, who shot to fame on reality TV show ‘Newlyweds’ with the
singer-turned-actress, admits he would love to tie the knot again despite
his first attempt at marriage being a failure

He told America’s Access Hollywood TV show: “For me, a phase was certainly
going through that emotion of not wanting to marry again. But I’m a romantic
at heart. I don’t want to be a ‘serial marrier’ but at the same time, I just
can’t imagine not being married again.”

Dane Cook’s bro says no on Dane and Jess

Posted by Webmistress on May 14th, 2006

The rumored romance between Employee of the Month co-stars Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook got a little cold water tossed on it from one source, Dane Cook’s brother, Darryl McCauley.

The brother recently dished to Star Magazine and the weekly gives this denial from bro on its website.

“They seemed to hit it off. As far as anything beyond that, it’s nothing more than hyperbole. They’re friends.”

In reference to reports romantically linking Jessica and Dane, his brother tells Star, “Those are all frivolous claims.” But, Darryl adds, “There’s no such thing as bad press. It’s certainly keeping his name out there. We all get a pretty big kick out of it.”

Darryl also quashes whispers of even a crush between the Dane and Jessica: “They were co-stars on the movie and the set was very light and funny — a lot of laughs. No crushes.

The pair have been romantically linked by several sources but it appears that Darryl is saying that’s just wishful thinking on the fans and the tabloids part.

Jessica and Dane have never had any dates either, Darryl claims:

“The cast went out while they were in New Mexico, so yes, they’ve gone out as a group, but as far as one-on-one or anything of that nature, no, that’s not accurate.”

Darryl tells Star that his brother described Jessica as “just a very talented actress, very nice, and just a sweet person.”

The report also details that Darryl claims Jessica didn’t speak of her split from Nick Lachey on the set of the film. It certainly sounds as if Jessica is much more over Nick than he is over her.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Fight over Condo

Posted by Webmistress on May 12th, 2006

Ex-Newlyweds Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are reportedly fighting over who will get ownership of their luxury $1.5 million condominium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

George Maloof, owner of the Palms resort in Las Vegas, claims Lachey recently contacted him about the 41st floor apartment the couple
signed up to buy in 2005.

“I don’t think they’ve figured who’s going to get the condo yet,” resort owner said.

In the meanwhile, Jessica Simpson’s best friend Cacee Cobb has quit as her personal assistant.

Jessica Simpson, who employed her childhood pal for the past two years, is said to be devastated at the news, according to IMDb, but toasted Cobb at her farewell party, saying: “You are my best friend, I will be your best friend forever.”

CaCee Cobb was rumoured to be romantically linked to Nick Lachey soon after the couple announced their separation.

Cacee quits!

Posted by Webmistress on May 10th, 2006

After more than two years as Jessica Simpson’s personal assistant, CaCee Cobb finally told her best friend that she wanted out. On May 7, Cobb celebrated her last day on the job with friends at Arnie Morton’s Steakhouse in L.A. Fighting tears, Simpson, 25, raised her glass and said to Cobb, “You are my best friend. I will be your best friend forever.” Simpson’s rep confirms the professional parting of ways to Us, “It’s true. They remain close.”

Or do they? Once she gave notice, Cobb, 28, didn’t waste time before catching up with her boss’ ex, Nick Lachey. Last week, Cobb met Lachey at L.A. hot spot Shag and cornered him into a half-hour conversation, according to an eyewitness. “CaCee’s still really close with Nick and adores him,” says a source, who adds that Cobb has felt pressured to pick sides in the couple’s divorce wars.

Can their friendship survive the divorce? Who will take over Cobb’s duties as Jessica’s assistant? For more details, check out the current issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.

Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria at ALMA awards

Posted by Webmistress on May 8th, 2006

Jessica Simpson makes a vivacious redhead Sunday with the ALMA Awards’ host and producer, Eva Longoria. Simpson opened the show with a comedy bit featuring George Lopez – who in January had apologized to her for poking fun at Nick Lachey at the People’s Choice Awards.

Jessica’s Night as a Redhead!

Posted by Webmistress on May 8th, 2006

Blonde bombshell Jessica Simpson showed off a sassy new look over the weekend at the star-studded ALMA awards. She had smoldering, red hair! Our own Kevin Frazier was with the A-lister to get the star scoop!

“It’s a wig!” she told Kevin on the red carpet. “I put eyeshadow on the blonde to hide it.”
In fact, the wig is part of Jessica’s new hairpiece line coming out soon, as reported by “The Insider”‘s own Marc Malkin on March 21. Jessica also debunked those baby adoption rumors, saying, “I’m not adopting a child! No, not yet. [But] that’s not a silly matter. I support an orphanage in Mexico and I’ve supported it ever since I was 13 years old. That’s where all those rumors came from. I haven’t been down in a couple years but I’m making a trip pretty soon actually.”

‘Employee Of The Month’ information

Employee of the Month (2006)
Director: Greg Coolidge,
In Theatres September 29, 2006

For customers of Super Club, the largest high-volume, bulk-discount retailer in the country, membership has its privileges. For workers at the cavernous store, the most coveted honor is the “Employee of the Month” award, and having one’s photo immortalized on the wall of fame in the staff lounge.

Enter Zack Bradley (Dane Cook) and Vince Downey (Dax Shepard), two ultra competitive Super Club workers whose ten years of employment have resulted in drastically different career paths. While Vince – with the aid of his trusty sidekick Jorge (Efren Ramirez) — has advanced to become head cashier and winner of 17 consecutive “E of M” awards, Zack is the ultimate slacker whose scruffy appearance and laid back attitude has made him popular with his colleagues, but kept him stuck in the lowly ranks of the store’s box boys.

The duo’s longtime rivalry comes to a bitter head when Amy (Jessica Simpson) – a beautiful new cashier with a reputation of only dating “Employee of the Month” winners – transfers to the store, immediately becoming the object of both Zack and Vince’s affection and often comical gamesmanship. While Vince instantly impresses Amy with his crowd pleasing, flamboyant style behind his checkstand register, Zack’s feeble attempts to charm his beautiful new co-worker quickly backfire against him. With the race to win Amy’s affections slipping away, Zack determines his only chance rests in winning the store’s next “Employee of the Month” award. A battle to the end, EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH shows that the only failure in life is when one fails to try.
