Jessica Simpson is wearing her wedding ring again - but insists she isn’t back with estranged husband, Nick Lachey. The ‘Newlyweds’ stars split last year after three years of marriage, and the pair are in the middle of divorce proceedings. Jessica has now been spotted wearing the wedding band on a chain round her neck rather than on her finger. A friend of the singer-turned-actress insists the blonde has decided to wear it again to remind herself of the happy times the couple shared. The pal told America’s People magazine: “You can still move on and have the memories. “Nick will always be an important part of her life.” The ring is accompanied by two crosses, one that was given to Jessica by her parents, while the other matches a crucifix that both her sister, Ashlee, and mother, Tina, wear. A source close the ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ star also revealed the jewellery represents “a combination of things that are important to her.”

The New York Daily News reports that Jessica Simpson has bailed on a cover story for the September issue of Vanity Fair because of the mag’s insistence that she dish about her split from Nick Lachey. A rep for Vanity Fair declined to comment on the dispute.

Nick Lachey has opened up about the failure of his marriage to Jessica Simpson.
“I wanted to be everything to my wife,” Lachey confessed in an interview appearing in both Rolling Stone and US Weekly next week. “It breaks my heart that I couldn’t make Jessica happy.”
“I’d marry her all over again. Because I still love her. It would be a lot easier to walk away if I didn’t.”
Lachey admitted there were problems in their relationship last year but he was surprised when Simpson called it off. He said they were driving home from a dinner following the American Music Awards when his wife “said something about how we hadn’t really been getting along and then said, ‘I think I want a divorce.’” Lachey said he asked Simpson to “sleep on it” but her mind was unchanged the following day.
“I felt like someone sucker-punched me and took my life away,” he told the magazines, which are owned by the same company. “My dog, my wife, the house.”
Lachey revealed that on the day she filed for divorce, Dec. 16, he visited Simpson at her parents’ house and begged her to work on saving their marriage by going to counseling together.
“I thought we owed it to ourselves to try … but she didn’t want to go.”
Lachey said he doesn’t blame his ex-wife. “Marriage is the toughest thing in the world. To blame her is bullshit.”
He said his former father-in-law, Joe Simpson, is also not to blame but admitted he was “an influence” in the marriage. Lachey refused to confirm reports that Simpson was unfaithful during their marriage – but fell short of denying them. “If she did cheat, it was the result of something bigger, not the reason we didn’t work. … Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had just walked in the house and found her in bed with a guy. That would be clear-cut. End of story. I wouldn’t have to deal with the uncertainty of adultery.”

Five months after Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson announced their separation, Lachey dishes about the end of his marriage in the current issue of Rolling Stone, on stands in New York and Los Angeles Wednesday and nationwide Friday. Here is what he had to say:

• “I’ll tell you how I knew my marriage was over: I was told.”

• “Jessica and I began playing these parts (on their MTV reality show Newlyweds) even when we were by ourselves. It became a really blurred line. There was a question about what truly was our reality.”

• “I don’t pretend to understand (former father-in-law) Joe (Simpson). … I don’t know if he ever liked me. To this day I couldn’t say. It was painful. Do I think Joe drove a rift between us? No. Was he an influence in our marriage? Absolutely.”

• “I don’t know if there were other men. Apparently Jessica Simpson is a big fan of the Fox Reality TV show American Idol. So much so -that one Internet rumor even buzzed that female contestants in this year’s final 12 got that opportunity - quite literally - when the star sent each of them a pair of shoes from her Jessica Simpson signature footwear line.

So - Life & Style Weekly decided to examine the rumor and will get to the facts in this week’s issue.

The report details that many of the ladies competing on American Idol would love to be in the shoes of a multiplatinum singer like Jessica Simpson. So Jessica generously gave them that opportunity

The magazine cites a rep for Jessica’s shoe line confirms that the story is true.

Jessica’s not saying who she’s rooting for, but she did include a note of encouragement, which said, “Have fun in my shoes, and sing your booties off!” We can just hear their song of thanks now: “These shoes are made for singing… ”

“The girls were very excited” to get the shoes and note from Jess, says an Idol spokesperson.

Singer/actress JESSICA SIMPSON insists she feels prettiest after a good “make-out” session. The star was voted Most Ideal Beauty by CosmoGirl! magazine and claims nothing makes her feel more beautiful than a steamy kissing session. She explains, “After a good make-out session I feel pretty. When I get mad I feel ugly!” The WITH YOU star is shocked she won the award adding, “I’m truly honoured. “Personally, I would have voted for EVA LONGORIA! She’s gorgeous!”

Aspiring rapper KEVIN FEDERLINE insists his marriage to BRITNEY SPEARS will never end in divorce like NICK LACHEY and JESSICA SIMPSON’s relationship. Federline believes the former NEWLYWEDS: NICK + JESSICA stars didn’t work hard enough to keep their relationship together. He explains, “My situation is different. I ain’t gettin’ no divorce. F**k that! “I don’t believe in that s**t. Once you get married, you’re in it for the fight.” The former back-up dancer believes Lachey is entitled to multi-million dollar alimony payments from his estranged wife - because the couple became even more famous while they were married. He explains, “They did their whole thing together. They really blew up together on that (reality) show. They deserve whatever they get.”

Hollywood party animal Nick Lachey has readily admitted that he still has feelings for his ex-wife Jessica Simpson.

The handsome serial dater took some time off from hanging out with beautiful girls to grant an interview on April 4 on The Bert Show, an Atlanta-based radio program, reports In Touch Magazine.

Nick’s shocking admission: I still love Jess. And be nice - he didn’t say he still loves Jessica’s money.

The weekly magazine will report that a friend of the former boy-bander explained that while Nick is in terrific physical shape, insiders say he’s emotionally drained. After all, Nick may act like a tough guy, but it’s not easy for anyone to shut the door on love.

“He and Jessica were married for three years,” a pal tells the magazine. “It’s natural that he still thinks about her.

Jessica has reportedly shut the door on any reconciliation.

But in Australia - the buxom blonde was reportedly in tears. The magazine speculates that perhaps Nick’s “I love You” confession may have stirred emotions she thought were long gone.

Or - she may have just found out he’s hanging out with CaCee again.

It seems like a real long shot - but indeed fans of the couple are still desperately holding out - hoping that something, anything can reunite the couple before the divorce is final.
