Jessica Simpson’s schedule is getting even busier now that she’s co-hosting the Teen Choice awards.

The eighth annual special will air live Aug. 20 on Fox (8 p.m. EDT). Her co-host will be announced at a later date, Fox said Tuesday.

At “Teen Choice 2006,” Simpson is nominated for choice movie breakout performance for her role as Daisy Duke in “The Dukes of Hazzard,” choice red carpet fashion icon and choice hottie.

In the youth-centric ceremony, teen-friendly stars of film, television, music, sports and fashion win surfboard awards.

Voters can cast their ballots until Aug. 11 on the Web sites Teenpeople.com, MySpace.com, Ign.com and Fox.com.

Simpson, 26, stars in the comedy “Employee of the Month,” which opens Sept. 15. Her new album, “A Public Affair,” debuts Aug. 29.

She and Nick Lachey, who co-starred in the MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,” recently divorced after three years of marriage.

Despite a slew of rumored dalliances with a small battalion of various guys, Jessica Simpson insists that she hasn’t dated anyone since she split from Nick Lachey.

What’s more, she emphatically denies reports that comedian and “Employee of the Month” co-star Dane Cook is her current squeeze, and says she has “dreams” about Brad Pitt.

Though reports have circulated that she and Cook have been romantically involved – even though Cook has a live-in girlfriend – Simpson says that Cook is merely “one of my dear friends,” according to an interview she’s given to OK! magazine (via USA Today). Adds Simpson, “Every time I feel frustrated, I’ll e-mail him and he’ll e-mail me back with a suggestion. He’s a great support, a solid friend, and a really good guy.”

And as for the reports that she’s been courted by various suitors, including Zach Braff, Jessica, who turned 26 yesterday, says, “I don’t feel right about dating yet.” Still, the girl knows what candy pleases her eye: “Brad Pitt in ‘Fight Club’; you can’t get much better than that. I still dream about his body!”

Jessica Simpsons bodyguards are facing police action after allegedly man-handling a photographer and snatching his camera equipment. Simpson was leaving the Pink Elephant night club in New York City early this morning (03Jul06) after celebrating her divorce from ex-husband Nick Lachey when the incident reportedly took place.

New York Daily News photographer John Roca began to snap the singer when he was allegedly pounced upon by four of her minders. Roca claims he hid his memory card down his trousers but Simpson’s security men retrieved it with force. Roca says, “As she turned around, I hit her with a volley of shots. Before you could say ‘Madonna,’ four guys pounced on me. “I’m shocked. These guys jumped on me like a chicken on a June bug.”

Simpson’s spokesman refuses to accept responsibility on behalf of her client: “This had nothing to do with Jessica’s security. It was club security that acted on its own.” But a Pink Elephant source points the finger at the celebrity: “All the bodyguards coming on heavy were employees of Jessica, not the club.”
