Jessica Simpson’s acting career has been given a boost - her new co-star in Blonde Ambition insists the pop star is one of the most professional people she has even met on a film set.

Actress Rachael Leigh Cook admits she feared Simpson would be an ill-prepared diva, surrounded by an entourage - but she was more than pleasantly surprised. The Josie + The Pussycats star tells online gossip columnist Marc Malkin, “She was really sweet and cool. I was really taken by surprise how reserved she is. “She’s really open about saying, `This is my first time having more than 10 lines in a movie. I’m kind of new here.’ “She took the job really seriously. She wasn’t out partying all the time… She would go home and be at work the next day.”

And Leigh Cook was further impressed when she realized Simpson really is the brains behind all her business endeavors. She adds, “I said, `So, you have this clothing line, come on, is that really you?’ And she said, `Yeah, absolutely. When they first manufactured this coat, the belt was too high, so I put it down because it makes the line look better.’ She’s really involved, which I was truthfully surprised by.”

John Mayer moved along quite well after his very public break up with Jessica Simpson. But even with Cameron Diaz and the other rumored hook-ups is he still missing Jessica? A report from In Touch Weekly magazine claims that they has confirmed a recent report on Gawker that Jessica Simpson hooked up with her ex-boyfriend, John Mayer, 29, at his NYC apartment.

The magazine reports this week that she was apparently spotted by one of his neighbors riding the elevator on the morning of September 9. At the time I believe Gawker called it the elevator ride of shame.

The couple broke up in May, but a pal of Jessica’s tells the weekly entertainment magazine, “He is still texting her all the time, and is clearly still after her. I guess she had a moment of weakness, and she spent the night with him.” But the friend also adds that the brief reunion isn’t likely to lead to a long-term reconciliation.

Jessica, 27, was in NYC for Fashion Week, but with John’s persistent text messages it appears that she may have had more much more than clothes on her mind.

Jessica Simpson has dismissed reports that she is having a baby with her gay stylist Ken Paves.
The rumours began after U.S. magazine ‘More’ published a story on Simpson’s eagerness to become a mother.

The reports also claimed that the singer/actress had decided to go for artificial insemination with Paves “in the next six months,” as the stylist was also desperate to have a child.

However, Simpson’s representative, Lauren Auslander has rubbished the rumours, insisting that the statements are false.

“There is no truth to this statement whatsoever.” Contactmusic quoted Auslander, as telling gossip website TheCelebrityTruth.com.

– HAHA! geez, what a weird thing to make up.

A super toned looking Jessica Simpson was seen leaving the gym with her trainer in West Hollywood on Friday afternoon. Judging by Jessica’s tired-looking face, I’m guessing it was yet another grueling work-out.

Jessica Simpson is ready to add another accessory to her always-stylish look – a cowboy hat.

The singer is “talking about doing a country record and going back to her roots, being from Texas,” Jessica’s father and manager, Joe Simpson, told People mag at Hard Rock Hotel’s Rolling Stone party in Las Vegas.

“Everything in our business is about beats and I think she really wants to sing,” he said, “and country music still believes in that.”

Simpson, 27, recently finished filming Major Movie Star and is turning her thoughts back to her music. Her last album, 2006’s “Public Affair,” hit the Top 20, but quickly fell off the charts.
