Look from the past

Look from the past

For some reason, Jessica’s look when she left Tenjune nightclub on Tuesday, reminded me of this old shoot (right) for Elle magazine a few years back. Jess has been looking great lately — ever since she got rid of her stylist, ha.

Looking great in a blue dress, Jessica Simpson and best friend (and former assistant) Cacee Cobb left club Tenjune in Hollywood on Tuesday night. The best friends left the club at around 2:30am and according to onlookers, the club’s security was very aggressive in trying to block the snappers.

Jessica & Ashlee go out for lunch

Looking cute in jeans and clutching an oversized red bag, Jessica Simpson and sister Ashlee headed out for lunch in Santa Monica late last month. The two were seen leaving a restaurant, rushing past photographers. As Jess walked to the car, one snapper asked the question “What’s next for you, Jessica?”, to which she replied “music.” New music? Perhaps country music? Yeehaa!

Caught in the Act!

People Magazine spotting:

A “really hungry” Jessica Simpson, requesting the most private table at Philadelphia eatery Alma de Cuba. A source tells us that the singer thought the restaurant was “adorable” – and she ordered a calamari salad and verde empanada followed by vaca frita and chicken arepas. Simpson (and her dining companion) then ordered a second helping of vaca frita, a side of black beans and rice. Not that she wanted anyone to notice: A nearby table of 10 recognized her and requested a picture, but Simpson politely declined.

Willie to write songs for Jessica’s country album

Posted by Webmistress on September 17th, 2007

Willie Nelson has agreed to write a few songs for Jessica Simpson’s next album to help her turn to country music.

The singer’s father revealed her interest in recording a country-style LP recently and Simpson has insisted that she is very serious about her change in sound.

Jessica claimed that she got the inspiration to change her style from Nelson when she appeared in 2005 movie The Dukes of Hazzard. She explained: “I aspire to be like Patsy Cline. Willie actually turned me on to her because he used to be one of her background singers.”

Simpson, who grew up in Texas, said of her plans: “My next album is probably going to be with Willie Nelson. I’ve been wanting to do a country record because it’s in my roots.”

Co-Star Impressed By Jessica

Posted by Webmistress on September 17th, 2007

Jessica Simpson’s acting career has been given a boost – her new co-star in Blonde Ambition insists the pop star is one of the most professional people she has even met on a film set.

Actress Rachael Leigh Cook admits she feared Simpson would be an ill-prepared diva, surrounded by an entourage – but she was more than pleasantly surprised. The Josie + The Pussycats star tells online gossip columnist Marc Malkin, “She was really sweet and cool. I was really taken by surprise how reserved she is. “She’s really open about saying, `This is my first time having more than 10 lines in a movie. I’m kind of new here.’ “She took the job really seriously. She wasn’t out partying all the time… She would go home and be at work the next day.”

And Leigh Cook was further impressed when she realized Simpson really is the brains behind all her business endeavors. She adds, “I said, `So, you have this clothing line, come on, is that really you?’ And she said, `Yeah, absolutely. When they first manufactured this coat, the belt was too high, so I put it down because it makes the line look better.’ She’s really involved, which I was truthfully surprised by.”
