Don’t try getting Jessica Simpson by getting through her mom first because it’s just not going to work.

Jessica Simpson claims men are trying an ingenious way of hitting on her - flirting with her mother first.

The stunning blonde insists she hasn’t been short of potential suitors since she split from Nick Lachey in November 2005. The couple officially divorced in the summer.

The 25-year-old has rebuked countless men but has revealed that some are now trying out bizarre new seduction techniques to try and impress her.

She said,”Last week a guy tried to hit on my mom. He was saying how gorgeous, young and sexy she was but he was also kind of hitting on me. This guy knew I really loved my mom and thought he could get to me like that.”

Jessica and her sister Ashlee are both very close to their mother Tina who, along with their father Joe, has been integral to their success.

Since her break-up from Nick, Jessica has been linked to John Mayer and her “Employee of the Month” co-star Dane Cook.
