Jessica Simpson contemplates adoption

Jessica Simpson’s maternal instincts have been aroused. She wants to be a mother. However, she isn’t yet prepared to give birth to a child so she will adopt, reports Cindy Adams in NY Post column.

Somewhat, disconcertingly Jessica claims the inspiration for motherhood comes to her from caring for her dogs! It fleetingly crossed our minds that adoption would allow her to acquire her baby as easily as she did her dogs!

We would have preferred the inspiration came from the delightful pictures of baby Shiloh and Suri in the media, or the publicity that would inevitably surround another celebrity adoption.

In any case, we hope Jessica goes ahead with her adoption. If nothing else, it might make John Mayer commit one way or the other.
