Photos of couples are usually worth more and pairs are a much hotter commodity than singles. But who would’ve ever guessed that Jessica Simpson’s stock would drop by HALF when John Mayer’s not involved!

That’s what happened recently when Jess made a deal to host an event at Pure nightclub Thursday in Las Vegas, reports Janet Charlton. Pure apparently offered Simpson and Mayer $500,000 apiece if they agreed to co-host a special Pussycat Dolls event at the venue. John said but no thanks, and now Jessica is pocketing a mere $250,000 to do the gig solo.
