October 2, 2009: Jessica Simpson attends Operation Smile’s 8th Annual Smile Gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Jessica looked great posing for the photographers on the red carpet in a black jumpsuit. Inside the event she took to the stage to say some words (while getting rather emotional) and was also pictured with fellow Operation Smile Ambassador, and CNN anchor, Nicole Lapin.

After losing her beloved Maltipoo Daisy to a coyote attack, Jessica Simpson may be at the lowest point of her life, friends fear.

“Daisy was her baby,” one of them tells People Magazine. “It’s going to put her into a tailspin. It will put her into the worst place ever.”

But another source close to the actress says she’s coping better than her friends may realize.

“She’s really upset, but she’s not spiraling out of control by any means,” this source says. “She’ll get through this but it is like losing a family member. She’s focusing on work and spending time with her family and friends.”

We’ve all been worrying and wondering about Jessica and Daisy, and last night Jess gave us an update on Twitter. She is still searching…

“Still holding out hope despite the a–holes that say is it a dumb thing to do. Daisy is my baby … why would I stop searching? I’m a mom.”

Don’t let anyone tell you it’s stupid, Jess. It’s not, she’s your baby and I’m still hoping! <3

Jessica wrote the most sad and horrifying tweet very late on Tuesday night. Daisy is missing, she was taken by a coyote right before their very eyes. This is what Jess wrote:

“My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!”

My heart truly aches for Jessica, she must be absolutely devastated. Daisy is her baby and we all know how much she loves her. We love her too! We all watched when Jessica got Daisy from Nick on her birthday and have since seen her grow up. She’s an adorable little dog! If I lived in the area, I would be out there myself looking for her. I’m truly hoping for her safe return :’(

What a year it’s been for Jessica Simpson—there’s the phenomenal megabucks fashion business, the country album and the confident new attitude. Weight drama? Man drama? Simpson shrugs it all of and tells Glamour what matters to her now.

You’ve got to love Jessica Simpson’s resilience. A few days after she and Tony Romo, her boyfriend of two years, broke up—he reportedly did it the night before her twenty-ninth birthday—she sent a Twitter message to her fans: “Everyone needs to know that hope floats…. Grab the strings and pull it back to you,” she wrote. Later that day, she sent another Tweet: “Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies and family rest. Bring all of us peace.”

As we announced earlier this summer, Jessica Simpson will be adding lingerie to her style empire — and she’s talking with WWD.com about the new collection, which has just launched for the trade industry at the Vandale showrooms in Manhattan.

“My intimates are feminine and sweet with a hint of fun,” she tells the paper. And her jump to lingerie was born out of a genuine passion for the stuff, “I love lingerie. What girl doesn’t?” she asks rhetorically. “My lingerie reflects the way I’m feeling when I wake up and helps me set the tone for my day.” As any buxom woman knows, however, finding gorgeous designs to set that tone can be tricky. “It is important to me personally…to be able to wear my own line,” she says.
